‘Mommy! Mommy!’ I rushed to the door and swung it open. ‘Mommy, we’ve got visitors!’

Mommy turned around to look at me. Why was mommy looking scared?

‘Mommy, there’s a girl my age, can I go meet her?’ I had never seen a girl my age, I was so excited! But mommy shook her head.

‘Sweetie, could you go to your room? Mommy will take care of the visitors.’ Mommy looked scary. We never had visitors, was that bad? Was visitors bad? It should be fun right?

I just nodded and walked to the stairs when my mom stopped me, ‘Sweetie?’, I looked at her seeing her face go pale. Why was mommy scared? She hugged my so tight I could barely breath, ‘M…mommy?’.

‘I love you Tadashi.’


Everything went black.




‘Hey, he’s waking up!’

Who was that? Mommy didn’t sound like that.

‘Well well well… what do we have here.’

It hurt… it all hurt so much… ‘W…where is mommy…’

They looked at me, one with horror. The other…smiling? Now I could recognize them. The smiling girl was the visitor. The girl in our woods. Before I could say anything she pulled my up by my hair. It hurt… it hurt…. Hurt…..

‘You know dear cousin..’ she started a smirk forming seeing my tears fall down my cheeks, ‘Your mommy decided too color the floor a beautiful bright red.’ What? What happened to mommy?

‘Oh wait, maybe I should show you… yeah that’s what I’ll do.’ she pulled my up higher and her other hand came up with me. ‘W…what are you gon….’ It hurt so much…. I couldn’t even scream so much… it hurt mommy…. It hurts….
I felt something wet and warm creep up my neck, soaking my cloths. It was so red… it was scary mommy…

‘GAHAHAHA, what a pitiful sight is that!’ the girl yelled in my face. ‘but since your still alive I say you’re a perfect new recruit, cousin dear!’ I couldn’t move anymore… I felt her hand on my back scratching in my shoulder. ‘Our new recruit, number 32.’

I heard something drop on the other side of the cell. Damn it was cold, they should do something about that. I tried to lie down just to feel my newly got wings hurt like hell. Damn it. Stupid experiment. I couldn’t even feel my butt because of that idiotic tail.

When I got here they tried upgrading my magic potential. What they didn’t know, was that my magic was already extremely high. So the only result was driving me insane. I almost destroyed the whole building. They sealed half of my magic power using one of my eyes as its container, making me unable to use it. Everyone was scared of me. I just played along and acted insane so they would talk carelessly when they stood before my cell. Cause I wouldn’t understand anyway, so they thought.

I heard a door open, on the other side of the magic barrier I saw my guard talk to someone carrying a girl, a bit younger than me I guess.

‘Not worthy as a number, again. She’s still alive tho.’ The new guy said.

‘She should be happy, now she won’t end up like that beast.’ Nodding in my direction. I crawled to the barrier, so I could look at them.

‘Guess he saw you point at him.’ The guy carrying the wounded girl threw her in the cell beside me.

‘Anything new happening on the streets?’ my guard asked.

‘Nothing special, they tried another guy. But he wasn’t worthy either.’

‘Hey you heard? Number 40 died today, poor guy.’ Another useless dead.

‘Hope this one survives tho. She’s really pretty! But well… everyone in this cell dies anyway.’

‘See you next time.’

‘yeah see ya.’

The light died out again. Making it dark as hell. Yeah really funny, a demon in a hell dark cell. They gave me night vision in one of the first days here so I didn’t really mind. The dark gave me some time to look at the girl in the other cell. The only thing separating us some steel bars, which aren’t really protection against me. Carefully crawling, so I wouldn’t hurt myself, I came closer to the bars.

The guard flashed a light in my cell, ‘Hey! Don’t you dare to try breaking those bars!’ he yelled at me. Useless he was. I could snap his back in 2 in a split second. The only thing keeping me from it was the Kaedes rage afterwards. The girl on the other side had half long brown hair, covering up most of her wounds in her face. She was also really small for her age.

Her eyes slowly opened, trying to get used to the darkness she tried sitting up. at the same moment I heard my guard take his leave.

‘Someone here?’ she asked with a beautiful bright voice. Looking in my direction her eyes lit up. crawling to the bars she took a closer look at me. It felt really uncomfortable, having someone look at you like that.

‘Hey…’ she started talking again, ‘you think they’ll give me also a pair of wings?’ was she joking? She must be. What’s with that, wanting such demonic wings. I couldn’t hold back my laugh, I just couldn’t.

‘What the…haha.. hell’s with…hahaha.. that.’ She looked at me with huge eyes.
‘I’m serious here!’ she puffed up her cheeks trying to glare at me, failing horribly. Only making it more funny.

‘You’re really weird.’

‘Said the guy with the wings.’ She smiled at me and reached out her hand through the bars. Waiting for me to shake it.

‘I’m Saya, 14 years old, I used to live here in Magnolia.’ She said as fast as she could, probably. ‘and you?’ still with that huge smile of her.

‘Tadashi, 16 and I don’t remember.’

‘You don’t? that’s sad.’ She thought for a second before continuing, ‘You know, if we ever get out of here. We’ll look for your place together!’ she declared, finding it a brilliant plan. Why. She should know we would never be able to escape… so why was she so cheerful.

‘You’re really weird.’

‘Said the guy with the bandaged head, try taking care of yourself idiot.’
